Titleist Golf Balls Compression

Understanding the compression rating of your golf ball can greatly improve your golf game. One way to improve your game is to play with a ball suitable to your skillset. Titleist golf balls have great compression ratings for every golfer. Once you choose the right ball, you can personalize it with our design studio.

Basics of Golf Ball Compression

Every golf ball on the market has a compression rating. A golf ball’s compression is when the ball changes shape after impact from the club. Compression ratings range from 30-120, 120 being the hardest. A ball’s compression rating greatly influences its speed. A ball with a low compression rating changes shape more than a ball with a high compression rating. Low compression rates require a slower swing speed for the ball to change shape. A ball with a high compression rating requires a faster swing speed to change shape. Some brands measure compression on the core only or include the entire ball. Low compression golf balls are best for beginners because beginners typically have lower swing speeds. Titleist offers a variety of compression ratings for their golf balls. The Velocity series has a medium compression rating. The Pro V1 has a compression rating of 90 while the Pro V1x has a compression rating of 100.
